THE STORY
Hey, I'm Lili, designer and founder of SIPEKI.
Here's the story....

ABOUT ME
I’m Lili – Finalist of the world’s largest sustainable fashion design competition The Redress Design Award 2021 cycle. Completing my master’s at Kingston University I have been working as a fashion designer while also building my own brand.
I was born in Hungary which has a big influence on my design process and overall approach to fashion. I’m visually inspired by my heritage and all things reminiscent of its past decade fashion, art, film and music.
I learnt to sew at a very young age and spent my free time using my creativity to turn scrap fabrics into new things. I was fascinated by the endless ways you can reuse materials and give them a new purpose. This curiosity for reconstruction is what fuels my drive and desire to learn.
I moved to the UK to study fashion and turn my fascination for sewing into a career. After completing my BA in fashion I set out to build my own brand that specializes in the production of sustainable denim ranges with the desire to bring into the world something that will not be thrown away later.
To achieve this, I enrolled in a masters course to expand my knowledge of pattern drafting and bespoke construction techniques to enable me to handcraft my collections to the highest standards.

One of my MA projects got selected for the Redress Design Awards which required me to transform textile waste into an innovative, scalable and commercially viable collection. To tackle this challenge I decided to repurpose old unwanted kids school uniforms. The garments were designed to be practical and multifunctional so they can be worn in different ways and personalised by the wearer leading to a longer product life.

Since graduating I’ve been working in the industry as a womenswear designer while also working on setting up my own sustainable fashion brand. My goal is to inspire people with my designs to value their clothes and to re-establish cultural heritage in a contemporary way.
This is my story so far and it's just about to begin. If you want to follow my journey on building my brand and get an insight of a life of a fashion designer head over to my socials below.
